About me

I’m Duygu, a Turkish DIY projects developer, craft enthusiast, and educator, with a fervent passion for teaching and creating. Let me take you through my journey from the classroom to chasing my dreams.

Back in 2015, I started sharing my “do it yourself” ideas on my YouTube channel. What began as a fun way to express myself turned into a big part of who I am. For four years, I wore two hats – I balanced the roles of teacher and content creator, finding fulfillment in both realms. Yet, a growing desire to fully immerse myself in the world of creativity led to a bold decision – leaving behind my teaching career to pursue my dreams.

So, I took a leap and left my teaching job. I opened up my own studio, where I could make creative stuff for brands, run workshops, and just be an all-around creative soul.

In the early months of 2021, seeking new inspirations and opportunities, I decided to relocate my studio to the vibrant city of London. This move opened doors to exciting collaborations, craft workshops, and the continued development of captivating content for my social media channels.

Through my creative journey, I discovered the enchanting world of punch embroidery. I fell in love with it and what began as a mere exploration became a profound passion.

In 2021, I wrote my first book, “Modern Punch Embroidery.” It was a big deal for me, and it opened up new doors in the crafting world. Then I wrote my second book “Ma décoration de Noël” in 2023.

Building upon my experiences in punch needle embroidery and the success of my book, I founded my punch needle business DUTUGO in late 2021.

My story is all about following my heart and doing what I love. From DIY on YouTube to having my own studio, moving to London, and creating DUTUGO – it’s been quite a ride. I’m thankful for the support from the awesome community that’s been a part of my creative journey. Let’s keep making cool stuff together!
